Northwest Autumn Classic – Saturday

Congratulations to Mackenzie Korican and Hopscotch on their 1st  place finish in the Children’s Pony Equitation on the flat, and Cassie Thomas and Mason on their 1st and 2nd place finishes in the Children’s Jumpers 1.10m.

Oregon Summer Classic Success

JESSE SHURTLEFF aboard SIG CENSUS and ARAGON has enjoyed success in the early goings of the Oregon Summer Classic. JESSE has won both the Hillcrest Medal and the OHJA Senior Medal aboard SIG CENSUS, and was Champion in the Adult Amateur Equitation aboard ARAGON with two firsts and a second.

Congratulations to JESSE and her boys, and good luck to JESSE and SARAH FIERMAN this weekend in their medal finals.

Fort Langley Summer Classic

Woodsiders had a fantastic week at the Thunderbird Show Park, enjoying wonderful summer weather and great results in the ring.

CASSIE THOMAS and MASON continued their winning ways in the Children’s Jumpers, winning the Children’s Jumper Stake class at 1.10m and collecting three 3rds in the division. The pair were Reserve Champion in the Children’s Jumper division. CASSIE and MASON crossed over to the equitation ring for a successful trip in the USEF Pessoa Medal, placing 6th out of 18 entries.

ARAGON, ridden by JESSE SHURTLEFF and SARA SMITH, was Champion in the Large Working Hunters with Sara aboard, and continued to win and place highly with Jesse up in the Amateur Owner 3’3″.

SIG CENSUS placed 2nd in the Training Jumper 1.15m with SARA SMITH in the irons on Wednesday, and successfully moved up to the 1.20m divisions with rider JESSE SHURTLEFF during the rest of the week.

KENAI and ANTONIA PAPAJANI began the week with a bang, winning the 1.15 Training Jumper. The pair successfully moved up to the 1.20m divisions during the rest of the week.

BB MADELEINE and RUSSELL BURKE had great week moving up into the Children’s Jumpers at 1.10m,

PALADIN and owner AMANDA DETRICK consistently placed highly in the Pre-Adult Equitation throughout the week.

Oregon High Desert Classics

Congratulations to all our riders on a successful two weeks in beautiful Bend, OR!

Week One

ARAGON and JESSE SHURTLEFF swept the Adult Amateur 18-30 Equitation division and finished Champion. In the Adult Amateur Hunters 18-30 they won two classes on the way to the Reserve Championship. JESSE placed 2nd in the Ariat Adult Medal aboard ARAGON.

SIG CENZUS and JESSE SHURTLEFF made a strong showing in the large 1.20m division, consistently placing in the ribbons. JESSE placed 7th in the USEF Platinum Performance Talent Search Medal aboard SIG CENZUS.

MASON and CASSIE THOMAS had a spectacular show, finishing with two Championships in the Children’s Jumper 1.00m and the Training Jumpers 1.05m.

PAPIRO, owned by KAREN BADGLEY found much success in the Pre-Green Hunters, 3′ (ridden by LISA PETERSEN). PAPIRO consistently placed in the top of the class, as well as receiving a 2nd place of 23 in the Non-Thoroughbred Working Hunters. With owner KAREN BADGLEY, PAPIRO placed highly in the Long Stirrup Working Hunters and Equitation.

KENAI and ANTONIA PAPAJANI finished 8th of 41 in the $2,500 The Stirrup Cup, in Memory of Dina Happy, Mini Grand Prix.

CONNECT THE DOTS was Champion in the Schooling Working Hunters with SARAH FIERMAN and SARA SMITH aboard. SARAH FIERMAN and CONNECT THE DOTS finished 1st in the OHJA Mini-Medal.

BB MADELINE and RUSSELL BURKE consistently placed high in both the 1.00m Children’s and 1.05 Jumpers.

Week Two

MASON and CASSIE THOMAS moved up to the Children’s Jumper 1.10m during the second week and proved very successful, earning a Championship in the division. The pair also made their Big Equitation debut and finished 5th in the USEF Pessoa Medal and 5th in the WIHS Equitation Classic- Jumper Phase.

ARAGON and JESSE SHURTLEFF continued their winning ways in week two, sweeping the Adult Equitation division for the second week in a row on their way to the Championship. JESSE and ARAGON also won the OHJA Adult Medal and placed 4th in the Ariat National Adult Medal.

SIG CENZUS and JESSE SHURTLEFF performed very well in the Platinum Performance/USEF Talent Search Medal, earning a 4th place award out of 18 riders. The duo also placed 2nd in the OHJA Junior/Senior Medal.

CONNECT THE DOTS and SARAH FIERMAN performed well in their last show together, earning a 3rd in the OHJA Mini Medal and qualifying to return for the OHJA Medal Finals.
